Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect the minimum, we sell nothing, and you can ask us to delete your data anytime.

What we collect

How we use it

Who processes it

We use a small number of service providers to operate: Formspree (form submissions), Cloudflare (hosting and security), and our email newsletter provider. Each processes your data only to provide their service to us. We do not sell or rent personal information — to anyone, ever.

How long we keep it, and your rights

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. Wherever you live — including under the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws — you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Email us at hello@leavethedraft.com and we will act on verified requests within 30 days. We will never discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

International visitors

We are based in the United States, and your information is processed here. If you access this site from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.

Changes

If our data practices materially change — for example, if we add analytics — we will update this policy and its date, and where required, ask for your consent before new tracking begins.

Cookies & Your Controls

This site is intentionally light on cookies. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies for security and performance (for example, bot protection). Because we use only strictly necessary technologies, no consent banner is currently required — and we'd rather not interrupt you with one unnecessarily.

If we ever add analytics or marketing technologies, visitors in regions that require it (such as the EU and UK) will be asked for consent before those tools activate.

You can control cookies through your browser's settings: view, block, or delete them; browse privately; or block third-party cookies entirely. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect site security features.

Terms of Service

By using leavethedraft.com you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

  1. What this site is. Leave The Draft provides content, tools, and services that help people move unfinished ideas into the world. Content is for informational and educational purposes.
  2. Acceptable use. Don't use this site for anything unlawful, don't attempt to break or misuse it, and don't scrape or republish our content without permission.
  3. Intellectual property. The Leave The Draft name, logo, content, frameworks, templates, and materials are our property, protected by copyright and trademark law. Program participants receive a personal license to use materials for their own projects — not to resell or redistribute them. You own your work: anything you create — your brand, your content, your idea — remains yours.
  4. Services and programs. Paid services (including Leave The Draft Surgery and The Leave The Draft Queue) are governed by these terms plus the specific terms presented at purchase, including the guarantee and refund terms below.
  5. No professional advice. Our content and services are educational and strategic. They are not legal, financial, tax, or medical advice. Consult qualified professionals for decisions in those areas.
  6. Third-party links and platforms. We link to and operate on third-party platforms we don't control, and we're not responsible for their content, practices, or availability. Links can break or change over time.
  7. Disclaimer of warranties. The site and its content are provided "as is." While we work to keep everything accurate and current, some content may become outdated, and we don't warrant completeness or fitness for a particular purpose.
  8. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Leave The Draft will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content.
  9. Termination. We may suspend or end access for conduct that violates these terms.
  10. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, USA.
  11. Changes. We may update these terms; continued use after changes means acceptance. Material changes to paid-service terms will not apply retroactively to active engagements.

Guarantee & Refund Terms (Paid Programs)

The Momentum Guarantee (The Leave The Draft Queue): if nothing of yours is public within 14 days of your kickoff call, we continue working with you at no additional charge until something is. "Public" means a piece of your project released where others can see it — small counts; public is the point. This guarantee requires your participation: attending scheduled calls and providing requested materials on time. Client non-participation for 21 or more consecutive days pauses the engagement (and this guarantee) rather than extending it.

Accessibility Statement

Ideas deserve a life beyond the file — and that includes the ideas of people who are blind, low-vision, Deaf, hard of hearing, or who navigate the web differently. We want Leave The Draft to be usable by everyone.

What we do

Honest limits

Some content — especially older material, third-party embeds, and platforms we publish on but don't control — may not yet meet the standard we hold ourselves to. We ship, then improve; accessibility gaps are treated as bugs, not features.

Tell us

If you hit a barrier anywhere on our site or content, email hello@leavethedraft.com with "Accessibility" in the subject. A human reads it, and fixes are prioritized.

Earnings Disclaimer

We help people release ideas. Some of those ideas become income — and some don't. Nothing on this site is a promise of earnings, and phrases like "revenue ready" or "monetize smartly" describe capabilities we help you build, not results we guarantee.

Any examples, case studies, or testimonials reflect specific individuals' experiences and are not typical. Your outcomes depend on your idea, effort, market, timing, and factors nobody controls. Never risk money you can't afford to lose, and consult qualified professionals before financial decisions. Our content is education, not financial advice.

FTC & Affiliate Disclosures

We follow the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements, testimonials, and material connections — and the stricter of any applicable regional rules.

Anti-Spam Policy

We only email people who asked to hear from us — through an opt-in form or an explicit request. Every automated email we send includes a working unsubscribe link, and unsubscribes are honored promptly. We never buy email lists, and we never send unsolicited commercial email.

Minors & the Leave The Draft Academy

Our website, forms, and paid programs are directed at individuals 18 and older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information through our site, contact us and we will delete it.

Our educational programming for young people — the Leave The Draft Academy — is delivered exclusively through partner institutions (schools, libraries, and youth programs), in person, under those institutions' supervision and consent processes, with parent/guardian consent for any public sharing of student work. Academy programming contains no sales content directed at students.
